Watchtower History Gem: I Found When Maria Got Her Teaching Certificate

i consider myself an amateur watchtower history buff.

i have always read that maria frances ackley russell, charles taze russell's first and only wife, went to a teacher training college and was a teacher for a number of years before marrying russell.

but, i have never seen proof that she truly did finish college and became a certified teacher.

Good find.

She would have been 20 years old in 1870; her writings attest to her intelligence and education.

Incidentally, she was almost 2 years older than Charles, and much more accomplished than he.

I'm sure that didn't set too well with CTR.

I remember reading that chapter in Romans and feeling an instant connection to the Father.

Of course, I didn't mention it, believing that the door was closed in 1935.

You are STILL ANOINTED, CoCo.
In my opinion, anyone who displays the fruits of the Spirit is anointed by the Spirit.
You are the epitome of the Spirit's leading. The WT makes it unnecessarily complicated by insisting that unless someone agrees with their interpretation of Holy Writ, alas, no anointing.
Romans 8 does a superb job of debunking that falsity.

Marriage Proposal in the Kingdom Hall

just when you think you've seen it all comes another interesting use of a kingdom hall.a young man serenades his girlfriend with a song (possibly a watchtower song) from the stage through a microphone and backed by recorded music.

then he steps off the stage and gets down on one knee and proposes as he pulls out a ring from his coat pocket.

the large projector screen flashes up behind them with a picture of a sapphire and diamond ring.cameras capture the joyous moment as she accepts and they lock together in a loving hug.

The language seems to be Hungarian.

1944 to feb.16, 2018, was a leader of the crystals in theearly '60's.

the crystals recordings included "uptown," "he's a rebel," "he's sure the boyi love," "da doo ron ron (when he walked me home)," "then he kissed me," "santaclaus is coming to town," etc.
